The short answer

What does med spa marketing involve?

How do medical aesthetics clinics get found online?

Mostly through Google: the map pack for "med spa near me", and treatment searches like "laser hair removal cost Toronto". Winning those searches takes a complete Google Business Profile, a clear page for each treatment, and fast mobile pages with easy booking. And the copy has to stay within the advertising rules for physicians, nurses and prescription drugs.

Medical aesthetics is hard to market well in Ontario. The most-searched words are often brand names of prescription products. Physicians can't reference them in their advertising. Health Canada restricts them in advertising to the public.

Before-and-after photos, the industry's favourite asset, come with strict conditions. Many clinic websites break these rules without knowing it. Ranking without breaking them is what we do.

What the work included:

  • removing self-serving review stars and embedded reviews from the schema, which Google's rules don't allow and which carried manual-action risk
  • speed: page caching, WebP images, self-hosted fonts, and shop scripts removed from non-shop pages
  • analytics fixed so visits and conversions are recorded properly
  • template errors, a wrong postal code across the site, and an outdated CRA guide reference on 36 pages corrected

Search Console, Jul–Sep 2025 vs Jul–Sep 2026. In the four weeks to 17 Oct 2026, organic search drove 447 booking clicks, calls and form leads, measured in GA4 (which missed 5 of those 28 days, so the real figure is higher). Past results don't predict future results.

What we do

Med spa SEO, treatment by treatment.

Treatment pages

One page per treatment you want more bookings for, named generically: injectables, dermal fillers, laser hair removal, skin treatments. Each covers cost, process, downtime, risks and who's suitable. Each states who provides it.

Practitioner bios

Each injector and practitioner, with their profession and registration number. Patients can check them on their college's public register. Verifiable credentials build the trust Google looks for in health content.

Google Business Profile

The right primary category, services, real photos of the clinic, and hours. The name stays exactly as it appears on your sign. Keyword-stuffed names are a common reason Google suspends profiles.

Galleries done properly

Before-and-after galleries only on your own website. Consent obtained after treatment, unretouched images, consistent lighting and pose, and a "results vary" statement. If those conditions can't be met, no gallery at all.

Fast booking

Booking widgets often slow clinic sites on phones. We keep treatment pages fast and put one-tap booking and calling where patients look for them. Then we track every booking by page.

AI search

People ask ChatGPT which clinic to trust for a treatment. Specific, well-sourced treatment pages and consistent clinic facts across the web make your clinic easier for AI tools to name.

Regulated advertising

The rules med spa marketing has to follow.

Brand names of prescription products

The CPSO's policy bars physicians from referencing a specific drug, appliance or equipment in advertising. The CNO points nurses to Health Canada's restrictions on advertising prescription drugs to the public. So we describe treatments generically. Whether to target brand-name searches at all is a decision for your medical director or compliance lead. We'll show you the trade-off.

No testimonials

Physicians can't use testimonials in advertising, and nurses must never solicit them. So no testimonial pages, review widgets or star ratings on your site. Independent Google reviews are fine to reply to, professionally.

No comparisons or guarantees

No superiority claims, no "better results than", no promised outcomes. Accurate, specific information converts patients who are comparing clinics anyway.

No product endorsements

The CNO says nurses must avoid endorsing products. Treatment pages explain options. They don't promote one manufacturer.

Who provides what

In a clinic with physicians, nurses and aestheticians, a physician must never appear to provide or endorse services they don't deliver. Every page states who provides the treatment.

Answers

Med spa marketing questions, answered.

Can our website target brand-name injectable searches?

It's a hard call. Brand names get a lot of searches. But the CPSO's policy bars physicians from referencing specific drugs in advertising, and Health Canada restricts advertising prescription drugs to the public. We describe treatments generically by default. Want to consider brand terms? We lay out the risk for your medical director and compliance lead to decide.

Can we post before-and-after photos?

Often yes, on your own website, under strict conditions. For physicians: a real patient of the advertising physician, a typical result, no manipulation, consistent lighting and pose, consent after treatment with no incentive, and a "results not guaranteed and may vary" statement. Nurses need client consent and must use their own unretouched work. Not in ads people see unsolicited.

Can we run promotions like discounted first treatments?

It depends on who provides the treatment, and on the wording. Promotions must never be misleading, sensational or pressuring. Incentives can't be tied to patients consenting to photos. We'll suggest wording and leave the final decision with your medical director.

How long until we see results?

Google profile and technical fixes can show within weeks. Treatment pages usually take three to six months. In our clinic case study, clicks grew 8.9× comparing the same three months a year apart. Past results don't predict future results; yours vary by clinic, competition and starting point.
